A world-class emerging leaders program, activating new lay leaders ready to take their next step into greater communal leadership.

The Program

The Emerging Leaders Program is a yearlong leadership initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of Jewish leaders in your city. The program brings together a cohort of approximately 25 emerging leaders for shared learning, relationship-building, and hands-on engagement with Jewish communal life. Through a combination of Jewish leadership learning, exposure to local Jewish institutions, and volunteer opportunities, the program provides participants with a clear onramp into volunteer leadership and deeper communal involvement.

Learning Goals

  1. To create and continually renew a cadre of new volunteers who can take on leadership and responsibility at Federations, local Jewish agencies, and synagogues
  2. To address the needs of a rapidly changing Jewish world by fostering educated and proactive leaders able to adapt in order to build a strong Jewish future
  3. To train aspiring leaders in the personal skills necessary to be successful and empowered volunteer leaders in the Jewish community and to provide tools that are transferable to other aspects of their personal and professional lives
  4. To develop relationships between emerging leaders of the community, which will provide social encouragement to continue volunteering as well as create cooperative relationships between the community’s Jewish institutions
  5. To show participants the interconnectivity of the Jewish community and Federation’s integral role in creating this network
