Rabbi Charles Savenor works at Park Avenue Synagogue (PAS) as the Director of Congregational Education. Before coming to PAS, he worked for the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) as the Director of Kehilla (Congregational) Development for 6 years and at the Jewish Theological Seminary Rabbinical School as the Associate Dean and Director of Admissions.

He graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A., summa cum laude, in History/Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, having spent his junior year studying at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was ordained at JTS in 1996 with a concentration in Education. He earned a Masters of Education at Columbia University, Teachers College in 2008.

Rabbi Savenor blogs on leadership, Jewish life, and topics that impact modern families. Originally from Boston and always a Red Sox fan, Charlie and his wife, Julie Walpert, are the parents of two young boys, Joseph and Benjamin.
