As Director of Development, Aliza J. Kaplan manages the financial operations of the organization, and her responsibilities include financial and legal issues, budgeting, investing, and human resources.

Ms. Kaplan brings a unique mix of experience to the position, with a background in Jewish education and expertise in financial management. Before joining Clal in 2000, Ms. Kaplan worked in the financial services industry as a financial analyst and commercial bank lender in both New York and Tel Aviv. In Tel Aviv, she completed a rigorous bank training program/MBA (Tel Aviv University) at Bank Leumi and a credit training program at Bank Leumi NYC before taking a Commercial Loan Officer position with HSBC for much of her banking career. She handled the borrowing, commercial, and international transactions for Fortune 1000 corporate clients, working with the company CPA and owners, boards, and finance officers to maximize business growth while ensuring profitability, compliance, and protecting assets for the bank. A certified Jewish educator (Touro College), she also taught Hebrew supplementary school and Jewish parenting classes and directed projects for SAJES—Suffolk Association for Jewish Educations Services, now The Jewish Education Project.

Ms. Kaplan is a graduate of Brown University, where she received a B.A. in International Relations.
