Rabbi Brad Hirschfield participated in Pope’s Interfaith Meeting in Israel

On May 14th, Pope Benedict XVI met a group of religious leaders in the Galilee at the Sanctuary of the Annunciation in Nazareth. Rabbi Hirschfield, was one of the few international leaders invited to attend this interfaith event that included local religious leaders and interfaith activists. Rabbi Hirschfield’s participation was facilitated by the The Elijah Interfaith Institute, among the world’s most sophisticated builders of meaningful bridges between multiple faith communities. Based in Israel, and led by veteran interfaith activist and scholar, Rabbi Alon Goshen-Gottstein PhD, their projects have impact around the world.

Rabbi Irwin Kula has been appointed Rabbi of Team USA for the 18th (Chai) World Maccabiah Games. About 10,000 athletes from more than 60 countries will compete in the Games, with close to 1,000 athletes from the United States. The Maccabiah Games are one of the world‘s three largest international sporting events.
