Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award to be given to Irwin Kula

Named by the Interfaith Alliance Foundation as a recipient of their 11th annual Walter Cronkite Faith & Freedom Award, Irwin Kula is to be honored on Nov. 11th at the Rainbow Room in New York City. The Award recognizes individuals whose actions have embodied the values of civility, tolerance, diversity and cooperation in the advancement of public dialogue and public policy on traditionally controversial and divisive issues. Other honorees are activist Judy Shepard, whose son, Matthew, was murdered n an anti-gay crime; and Asra Nomani, leader of the Pearl Project, which investigated the murder of Daniel Pearl, who was her house guest when he was kidnapped and killed. The ceremony will be presented by the Honorary Chairman Walter Cronkite and President Rev. Dr. C. Welton Gaddy.
