99 Words

“If you had breath for no more than 99 words, what would they be?”

So posed Liz Gray to 99 people she most admired, after her own serious injury left her unable to speak, read, or write for more than a few minutes at a time. The result is a jewel of a little book, 99 Words. With selections from Nelson Mandela, Yoko Ono, Ariel Dorfman, Desmond Tutu, and many others including, Clal President Rabbi Irwin Kula and Clal Teaching Fellow/poet Janet R. Kirchheimer, the book shows how every word can be precious and provide lessons for life.
99 Words is published by Darnton, Longman and Todd Ltd., which specialize in creative books about Christian living and contemporary spirituality.
