Clal Board Member Alan Solow Selected by The Jerusalem Post as One of the “World’s 50 Most Influential Jews”

May 18, 2010

Recognized for his work as Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Mr. Solow was ranked No. 11 in The Jerusalem Post’s "First annual list of those who are shaping the future." Criteria included "personal access to power, ability to exert influence and individual talent."

Upon learning of the honor, Mr. Solow said, "This recognition by The Jerusalem Post in reality reflects the critical role played by the Conference, especially during a time period when we have seen transitions in the leadership of both the United States and Israel. Our goal as always, whether working publicly or in private (and we do both), is to promote the strongest possible relationship between two democratic allies...."

Other winners include Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve (No. 2) and Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of the City of NY (No. 14).

We applaud Mr. Solow for this well-deserved recognition in honor of his unique position and critical work. We are grateful to have his leadership at Clal.
