Leadership and Community Development

CLAL faculty includes rabbis and scholars from the full range of Jewish expression, with diverse backgrounds in Jewish studies, political science, history, philosophy and psychology.

Through seminars, courses, consultations and lectures in 100 cities, CLAL helps established and emerging leaders build dynamic, pluralist communities and institutions.

CLAL's courses of study, conducted in partnership with local Jewish communities, enable participants to acquire an in-depth understanding of how Jewish texts and traditions shape their values, interests, work, voluntarism and home life. CLAL provides these emerging leaders with the tools to enhance, integrate and deepen the Jewish content of their spiritual search and helps them consider the implications of this search for their personal and philanthropic lives.

CLAL consults with communities to create settings where professionals and rabbis across denominational and institutional lines take into account each other's needs and goals during the planning, funding and execution of new community initiatives. CLAL conducts seminars and consultations with professionals, rabbis and philanthropists to identify and develop a new generation of leaders.
